I really enjoy making lists. Shopping lists, to-do lists, Christmas wish lists, lists of what I’m getting people, exercise lists, food lists, lists of lists… I overdo it. But there’s something so satisfying about checking them off!
Well, a while ago (when I was on Pinterest CONSTANTLY), I pinned a blog post listing project. It was from Moorea-Seal.com. It was her 52 Lists project. I wanted to start prompting myself to write more. Lists always inspire me to write, but then I get off track. I was going back through my old pins for content for some of our clients at my new job when I came across this pin. Well, now I want to take that 52 List Challenge on. So–for the next year at least–I intend to host “Manifest Monday”. “Manifest” means “clear or obvious to the eye or mind”.
Life isn’t clear. And life isn’t obvious. So it’s time to make it so.
I will take the time each week to complete one of the writing prompts. It may look absurd to you and it may not make sense. But perhaps one of the listed items will inspire you to write or take photos or go on adventures.
Why do I want to do this? Partially, it’s selfishly driven. But I was talking to someone I am in the Skinny Dip Society Immersion Program with, and she asked me what “success” means to me. I find that I am always telling myself I am working toward success, but I had never been asked to specifically define it. (Everyone, pause and define your idea of success. Seriously, it will make you rethink your life.) Anyway, part of my definition of “success” is to do big things that inspire people. Well, what about the little things? Can’t little things inspire people? When I get writing, I inspire myself. I’m like, “Cool, dude! You did that! Kudos!” But I also get feedback from others. And I’m not going to lie, it feels good. So I guess Manifest Monday is an experiment in success circling.
I just made up “success circling”. Sounds fun, huh?
Without further ado, here’s your first manifest!
